Our Embarkation experience with P&O

For our cruise we departed from the Mayflower Terminal and arrived by car via CPS. Our CPS booking cost £70 for 4 nights.

On arrival we were asked to stay in our car until a member of CPS came over to check the car in. The attendant took our details and pictures of the car before taking the keys (your car is driven to a nearby car park and stored until you get back). After this we were directed to the luggage drop off area which is just outside the terminal entrance. After this we joined the queue to enter the terminal which moved fairly quickly.

As we entered the terminal everyone was asked to wear a mask. There were staff dotted everywhere to point us all in the right direction. After a short queue we entered the testing/vaccination check area where we had to present our ‘Fit to Fly’ certificate from Randox as well as the NHS covid vaccination certificates.

From here we went through to the main check in hall. We had not been able to print out our boarding passes but fortunately there was someone there specifically to print these out.

Moving on we queued to go to 1 of the several check in desks where our passports and boarding passes were checked.

After this there was a chance to sit down (if required) and also access to toilets.

It was time for security of which there were several lanes and then onto the ship.

Overall the car to cabin experience lasted 43 minutes - our quickest boarding so far! It mostly felt safe apart from the test/covid pass check area which was cramped with the spacing of the desks very tight.
