If you've recently purchased a cruise holiday, or even a fly-cruise, direct with P&O Cruises and find the same cruise at a lower rate elsewhere, you may be able to take advantage of P&O Cruises Price Promise. But how does this work?
We recently booked a 7 night Christmas Markets cruise for December 2023 onboard Iona, but then noticed the price for the same cabin grade was £100pp cheaper through a travel agent. Usually we do browse other companies to make sure we are getting the best price, however, as P&O Cruises were offering a low deposit offer, we didn't even think to compare the price on other sites. The price was a good value anyway when booking direct, but we did wonder if there was a way to claim back the difference.
This is when we discovered their price promise, if you find the same cruise for less elsewhere within 24 hours of booking, they will match the price and either give you back the difference, or lower the remaining balance you have to pay.
To make an application for the Price Promise, you will need to receive a full quote from the other company, stating:
Ship and departure date / cruise number
Price type (Select Price or Early Saver)
Date of quote
Cabin Grade (e.g. PF grade)
Number of guests
Departure Airport & Cabin Class (if you have booked a fly-cruise)
With our scenario, we found the better price on IgluCruises. Thankfully on their website, once you've found your cruise, selected your cabin and fare type, you can then either 'Save for later' (which will forward on an email quotation of your selection), or you can even take a screenshot of the 'Extras' page, as that will show you all the vital information you require to submit your request to P&O Cruises.
P&O Cruises highlights the importance of including the date of the quote as they are only able to apply their Price Promise within 24 hours of the original booking. If you decided to use the screenshot instead of the email quotation, then make sure you take a screenshot of the whole page so that their team can see the date and time in the right hand corner of the desktop.
Once you are ready to submit your claim to P&O Cruises, then simply forward on your quotation with a copy of your booking details to: pricepromise@pocruises.com
