It's day 3 Vlog onboard Ventura - our 4 night P&O Cruise to Amsterdam! In this weeks vlog, we leave the ship and explore the city of Amsterdam!
We start the day by taking an Uber from the cruise terminal to Dam Square. The Uber was surprisingly cheap at only £6.76 (much cheaper than the taxis available in the area). We spent a little time taking in the sights of the Royal Palace. There were many wreaths left at the National Monument as the day before was Remembrance Day (4th May).
We continued our stroll via the coffee shop to buy a couple of drinks before stopping for some breakfast. We took in the sights of Damrak, walked through Oudebrugsteeg then stopped at Korte Niezel for some scenic pictures of the canal.
Heading back to Centraal Station to take a free ferry to Buiksloterweg, which was free, taking us to our next stop of the day, The A'DAM.
For a fee, you can visit the A'DAM Lookout to visit the rooftop viewpoint, 100 meters above Amsterdam. At the top, you will also find the OverTheEdge Swing, for an additional charge you can swing. The swing was amazing and quite an adrenaline rush! Once finished at The A'DAM, we took the ferry back to Centraal Station to make our way back to the ship.
We stopped at the buffet for a spot of lunch, and once we had a nice nap, we visited The Beach House (cover charge of £7.50), used our free drink for celebration night at the restaurant, then ordered our food! The food was amazing! Dan went for Nachos as a start, and I went for Peri-Peri chicken wings, for our mains, I went for an 8oz steak on a lava rock, and Dan went for a Halloumi sizzler plate. Both the mains were nice, however, the lave rock made quite the mess! If you are dressing up to visit The Beach House, beware of the flying grease!
